Hey, everyone. Well, I got laid off. So naturally, I became a barista.

Good morning. Happy Wednesday, hump day. Hey, so my name is Jarrett. I’m with Suburbia Sandwich Co. Usually we only do this on the weekends, but due to some restructuring at the company I was at, unfortunately I’ve been laid off. And for me, that’s, you know, it’s time for Latte On.

So during the week, in order to kind of network, get my name out there, introduce people to the brand that Olivia and I put together from an idea that we just had sitting on the couch, to something that we enjoy to do, and we love to serve the entire community in Fairfield, whether it’s with coffees or sandwiches, or just the cuteness factor of the truck. It’s something that we really enjoy.

I’m hoping that during this experience I can network a little bit and try to get my name out there and see what my next job has in store for me. So this is kind of just a journey of that, and I look forward to kind of sharing that with you guys.

Hello. Thank you. Oh, I know. I’m going to be here Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from like eight till about ten. Thank you so much. Have a good train ride.

For the last several years, I worked in logistics, technology, and value engineering, and now I make coffee out of a 1969 Citroën truck in Fairfield, Connecticut. At least until somebody decides to hire me.

Now, I should probably clarify something. I’m not abandoning my career to pursue my lifelong passion for steamed milk. I’m actively looking for my next role, and because apparently applying for jobs wasn’t complicated enough, I’m also using AI agents to help me do it. They help me find opportunities, research companies, tailor my résumé, and keep track of everything. I still decide where I apply and what gets sent.

But instead of sitting at home, refreshing LinkedIn all day, I figured, why not meet people? Why not put my résumé to work? And why not document the entire thing?

So this is day one of Laid Off. Latte On. I’ll share the job search, what I’m doing with AI, interviews, rejections, coffee, this ridiculous French truck, and whatever happens along the way. Best case scenario, I find an amazing next chapter. Worst case scenario, I get really good at making lattes.

Laid Off. Latte On. Thanks, everyone, for the support. Like and subscribe. I look forward to partnering with you guys on this journey and sharing my story.
